Might there not be an issue with skype being used at the China end what with their countrywide firewalls and whatnot?
Not if using it to call a landline. Very favourable call charges but you do pay in Euros which makes it more expensive than it used to be.
I meant calling Skype->Skype.eta - or did you mean Skype-in-China->UK landline?

Bloody good tool. Just save yourself a load of hastle by not using the top few, as those tend to be REALLY poor - cross talk, noise wise etc. I find paying a few pence extra a minute gets you a better line.entwisi said:
1p/min via telediscount.co.uk?
i.e. dial 0844 861 78 78 first, then enter teh number in china you want to call. I use this all teh time at work to call spain etc and it works brilliantly
1p plus the 5 p for the 0844 numberi.e. dial 0844 861 78 78 first, then enter teh number in china you want to call. I use this all teh time at work to call spain etc and it works brilliantly
If you are using this at work iwould stop. you are costing your boss more money than you need to.
If it si for work calls it is bettter to dial the correct number as then your call provider can monitor usage and reduce call costs as the volume rises.
If it is persoanl use and unauthorised it is theft. people have been "let go" for this.
No, it costs teh 1p thats all, there is no 5p for teh 0844 number, please read the details before posting.

also it s fully work related but as 99% of phones are blocked from offshore and I'ma hot desker its teh only way to do my job. I've passed it by teh telephone co-ordinators who were more than happy for me to continue to use it and even sent an email out to encourage people to use them rather than dial direct.
when you regularly spend 6 hours a day talking to singapore, INdia, philipines and southa africa it makes sense.

Skype if you're calling him from a consistent location (ie home) and can thus put it on your PC. Doesn't need Skype at the other end - you can call landlines and mobiles for good rates
(UK landline from Peru was 0.025 cents a minute - mobile was 0.25 cents)
yeah i will agree to that, internet is the cheapest way. my GF lives in oz and on txts it costs me £100+ a month!(UK landline from Peru was 0.025 cents a minute - mobile was 0.25 cents)
depending on how underhand you are if you go toa store that sells skype phones e.g. maplin they chuck in a free 5min call card which can easily be swiped

Its much quicker to say something than type it hence the calls, we don't have skype access on our networks so thats out.
re teh 'thes'
I have this issue in my brain where it comes out wrong 95% of teh time and has done for teh last 10 years or so I've been on teh internet, I can either get hung up about or just get on with my life. The fact that you knew what I meant to type means its obviously no issue.
If thats teh only thing you can pull my posts up on then I'll rest happy.
