Just bought Mrs HA51EMT an old Punto (96).
Only got 1 (battered) blue key with it.
Looked on tinterweb and apparently needs a red key to programme new keys.
Is there anywhere that can clone the blue key without going to main dealer?

Cheers,

I think high street key cutters such as Timpsons can do this now, or ask this place for advice:

If its a petrol you can get free running ecu's for the puntos for about £160. Cheaper that a lock set/immobiliser and engine ecu from fiat!!

I got a spare for my old Fiat Coupe from Mister Minute key cutting place, they had a widget that could copy the normal blue key no problem.
Normally only need the red key if you get a flat battery and the immobiliser throws a wobbly. As mentioned above there are places that remove the immobiliser from the ECU now but i'd guess that invalidates your insurance if its nicked and the insurance company finds out somehow.

I've had this problem on my Coupe with the immobiliser having a fit if the battery is allowed to go flat, even after charging it again. However I've never needed to use the red key to fix it; simply disconnecting the battery, shorting the battery cables together for 20 seconds or so and reconnecting has always brought it back to life.
