Im wanting to take that lovely silver facia part of the dash (bit where boost guage and start button are) off and wondered if anyone had done this before and how to? Is it an easy task? Cheers fellow noblers. Gaz.

Horrible, horrible job. Nuts on the back of it so it's lie with your head in the footwell whilst trying to push your arm up to the back of the plate.

Yeah, and it's a bloody nightmare. All bolted up from the inside. Mine is still not back in fully as I'm getting a new one made to carry more gauges. I'll see if I can get it back off sometime next week and post you a pic of the back of it if that's any help?

Others will advise on the technique but I understand it is not easy at all - prepare for skinned knuckles curse

If there is a template you want to use for the full length version I will get one made. We can also look and see if there is a more accessible fitment method.

Very useful photos Craig! Has anyone considered re-engineering the nut/bolt fixings with something more modern (eg: quick release-push/pull type)? scratchchin

I seem to remember Owen had bolts on the outside as he just couldn't face doing the job ever again.... smile

Its got to be easy to re-engineer. With plastic pop in studs this would be relatively easy.
