Looking for some opinions.

I have booked 8 Houx Annexe campsite, 16 admission and 8 ferry tickets for an original group of 16 people. I now have an extra 5 or so wanting to join in. My problems are as follows:

1) The ferry price has trebled to over £75 as only the "premier" tickets are available - I have charged everyone £150 for everything and extra goes into a beer kitty so the ferry costing more could be tricky...
2) I'll need extra camping - I understand Houx annexe will be numbered this year so assuming I can get extra tics from beermountain or somewhere, these will be away from the main group of 8. Is it possible to move some of our original 8 cars into the space allocated for camping in the "new" tickets so that their tents etc can move to our area? (In fact, could we even simply buy some parking tickets and move a few cars there so there is enough space in the main group...?)

An alternative to 1) would be to have some kind of Top Gear style race where they use an alternative route (eg from Portsmouth rather than Calais) or transport (trains?), altough I don't really want to encourage my friends to be speeding.

Any thoughts/ideas welcomed.

Cheers

Yes to number 2. If you have 8 camping permits plus an extra 5 you can arrange your kit and cars in the 13 pitches any way you like. You might get some grief from the stewards though as they normally look in the vehicles for the camping passes to check you are on the correct pitch. I think you'll need to find a secure way of displaying your camping passes in the pitches that have no vehicles.

Thanks - hadn't thought about display of passes.

For the record, it'll be 5 extra people rather than 5 extra cars... so probably just 1 or 2 extra pitches and spreads them around existing bookings if necessary.

Hire a minibus to take your equipment down and 10 people so you will have plenty of room or buy some roof top tents to pitch on top of your roof racks alternativly buy the extra pitches and see if anyone will swap when it gets closer when the pitch plans are produced, or just get carpark tickets for other cars seems silly to pay for pitches to park cars
