Milgauss conundrum

So I bought a white/orange Milgauss in Octoberish after seeing one in a shop window. I had my name down for the black/green one but loved the white/orange one. I've still not seen the black/green in the flesh. My local jeweller has notified me that they now have one in and are keeping it for me. Now, question is, if I like it more than my current one, I'm going to have to spend a little bit because the retail is now £4100 for one (thank you, exchange rate). If this is the case what should I be looking for p/x on my current one (it's worn a lot but not mistreated) or would I be better going private? And if I went private is there still a demand (I imagine production has caught up a bit) and what should I expect?
