I think you have already hit the nail on the head, they are too ignorant to understand. These people will not learn, nor do they want to.

They probably don't introduce the baby as superior in the pack etc.. and the dog quite likely thinks it's just another squeaky toy.

Why blame the dogs, labelling breeds as aggressive is just another way for owners not to take responsibility for training. Similar to the apparent lack of parenting skills nowadays.

All right all right, to be fair it's the parents fault not the babies or the dogs. It's tragic because it's a fking stupid reason for a child to die and if the baby and dog weren't being looked after by some thick chav scum without two brain cells to rub together it wouldn't have happened.
