Watching live streaming footy matches on internet. Is it bad
Discussion
Right there is a certain site on the net where you can watch Skysports channels online and live for free, without having to pay any subscriptions or having to log in or do anything. If I use this site am I likely to get a knock on the door by the BIB? Or is it fine to watch? I wont publish the link just incase it gets anyone into trouble.
so it's premium content that requires a subscription to view, that you are getting for free, and you wonder if it's bad or not?
It's bad, i.e. breaking terms of service by the party who are distributing it, and also probably breaking your terms of service with your ISP. You are also eating into your download limits (even unlimited download ISP's tend to have a fair use or acceptable use policy).
I don't believe it is illegal in itself, though - just a civil infringement. Happy to be corrected on this.
So I wouldn't expect a knock on the door from BiB, but you may get a letter from your ISP.

they have to give you a written warning first but it comes from a third party so its not your problem. only if you download it then you have a problem because you have legally taken copyrighted material into your won hands. like if you were to walk down a street and watch a movie that was a copy you can not get done but if you actually got a copy yourself then your up for a swift kick. but they have to contact you first. no ISP wants to looks bad. if they just burst in and ceased your comp it wouldn't go down very well
I watched part of the New England Patriots last game of the season on Justin TV. I was in the USA and my local CBS station was showing the f
king Indianapolis c***s in a meaningless game instead of showing the Pats in a a meaningful one.
Not only was the coverage s
te but it deposited a virus in my PC as well.

You can't break the terms of an agreement that you haven't made. Aren't most of these streams from the mid- or far-east where it is perfectly legal for them to be played on the internet?BiggusLaddus said:

You must, at all times, make sure that the way you use the services does not break the law or the rights of any other person.
