Ive just made my first batch of homebrew!
I bought a starter kit which came with a standard ale mix.
I have tried some other peoples homebrew before and a lot of them have been ok but a little bland so I decided to add a few extra ingredients to make it a little different now Im worried Ive buggered it up!
I have added 8 pints of nettle tea half a jar of honey and a big slice of toasted english oak (weird I know)
Shall I pour it away now and start again or see how it turns out?

Jebus! made my own home brew once and deviated from the instructions, the resulting ale was almost hallucinogenic. horific. good luck with yours though!

I think the nettle tea might have overdone it, but if you like the taste of it, I would just try it an see If you like the taste of it, as you have already put it together your not going to loose out on anything if you dont chuck it away and make it up now are ya smile

sod it, might as well see how it turns out. just don't be an idiot like i was the first time i made homebrew. it made 48bottles which i thought would be fine to drink immediately. after throwing all but 6 away i realised my mistake. 6mths later i had an amazing tipple, though only 6 bottles of it frown

Think I might jump right in fet first with my next batch and buy individula ingredients!

Thinking of using heather or pine needles in addition to the hops!

Anybody else got any quirky stuff they add to their homebrew?
