Just a word of Warning, after several miles of use you will spend the rest of your time being dissapointed whenever you open the bonnet, they last all of five minutes like that after a bit of water and heat on them. I even took mine off to re-polish but they never looked as good. I think I would be tempted to go down the chrome route if I had another TVR and hope that fake shine dulls a little.

Powder coating is the answer......

I had these rocker covers done about 3 or 4 months ago, and they have just been sat in the garage on the engine ever since.
The trouble is they make the rest of the engine look really scruffy!

rover v8 oil filler caps have an orange plastic covering this tends to become dirty scatched and unsightly, if you cut the orange plastic from the cap you are left with an alloy cap that will polish up and set off your rocker covers kev

Mine have been painted black, the tops skimmed back to show polished aluminium and then lacquered (not by me!) and several years later they still look as good as new. If you want it all polished I don't see why you couldn't just lacquer the whole thing after you polished it.
