[cynic] How do/will they verify it? She could have hung onto the cage, or the support make progess at night. [/cynic]

Fair play though, massive challende and achievement.

Rubbish.
Did it in stints - come on love - its one go or not at all.
Plus she didn't really swim the atlantic - which as well all know is Plymouth - New York, What she has done is paddled around in some tropical water.

She swam 3/4 of the Atlantic. The starting point was miles off the African coast.

That said, I couldn't do it and it is still a massive achievement.

"Lady swims over 2100miles" Fantastic, and a phenomenal achievement.
It starts to get a little ropey when it's "Lady swims the Atlantic! Well, she starts halfway there, and does it in bits, and someone may or may not have done it 10 years ago, and there was a cage, etc, etc."

As if. Spent 8 hours in the water before returning to her support boat for a nice kip while the boat drove on for 10 hours.

David Blane could have done that without sleeping doing backstroke or some kind of stroke!.

I know how she must feel, I did 12 laps of the pool once and was so exhausted walking to the chipshop nearly killed me.
