Was on a post that had a link, opened the link to read and reply, but found that am not logged in and need to register....

This is due to the person posting the link using a different pistonheads URL to get to the site.

We have several different URL's which point to PH, including www.pistonheads.com,www.pistonheads.co.uk, pistonheads.com (without the "www.") and www.petrolheads.com.

Unfortunately due to the way the internet works, when you are logged in to one of them you are not logged into any of the others, so if you end up jumping between them (for example following a link someone has posted) then you will need to either log in again or edit the URL to match the version you usually use.

Acksherly, Mr. Will - it's not the way the INTERNET works - it's the way the servers and clients that us it for communications interact tongue out (had you said the way the WEB works, I would have forgiven you).
