Geneva '09: Weismann MF4 Roadster

Teaser sketch shows open version of hot German GT

German specialist-maker Weismann is readying a roadster version of its MF4, which will be presented for the first time at the Geneva show next month.

So far we’ve only been treated to this ‘teaser’ profile drawing, but the image suggests the new model will be a relatively straightforward cut-down from the GT MF4.

According to a press release the GT MF4-S Roadster will be powered by the BMW 4.0-litre V8 from the E92 BMW M3 that makes 470bhp. The existing fastback version uses a larger 4.8 litre BMW V8 but is less powerful with only 362bhp.

Buyers will get to choose from manual or double-clutch auto transmission, but no additional information is expected – officially at least – before the show debut.

Nice work, they will drop the MF3 with the, still iron tube chassis (galvanised though) and replace it with the MF4 alu chassis, good workbiggrin
But the MF4-S 4.0 M3 engine with 470hp seems a bit high..guess it would be the standard 420hp or lightly tuned, but most of the times Wiesmann uses only standard BMW power so its guarantied, I guess..

I would be happy with any Wiesmann--old or new, coupe or roadster, M engine or regular BMW engine--I don't care. I love them all. I think that the Wiesmann brothers are geniuses.

I sold a couple of the MF3 when I worked at Hunt & Keal (now closed) and they area real hoot to drive and the build quality was extraordinary. Really looking forward to this one!
