Been six weeks without Broadband, since I moved.

Ouch! Really been missing it. Now all hooked up again.

TIP: If you were just outside the distance when you last enquired, BT have now extended the coverage in some places.

I am about 4 km from the Watford exchange, but was originally told the cabling was in excess of the 5.5km limit! Mrs Beano hounded them while we were considering "mid-band" as a compromise, and eventually a helpful soul said "I think we're extended the distance to 6.5km now, can I put you through to check?"

A week later and I am back on my "better" computer, with sound, able to play DVD's and CD's, play in Photoshop and able to communicate to you all in wonderful Cyberspace at ADSL speeds - just done a test and it's all working pretty well OK

We have now got broadband in our village - problem is I don't think my 233 processer will cope with it. I am hoping that Father Christmas will bring me a nice new laptop.

Y'know... if your 233 processor copes with a modem dial-up arrangement, it'll probably cope with broadband.

Er, sorry, dunno what came over me. Clearly, you'll need something dead gorgeous like a 17" Apple Powerbook.

And have you seen those Intel Centrino adverts?

You're gonna need something like that, just in case we have a tough winter.....

(Min spec as specified in the blurb is a Pentium II 233 and 64MB - so it's worth knowing that there is a benefit for anyone other than Deb who doesn't have/want/afford the latest kit....)
