Newcastle is it part of Scotland - Poll!

Tried to put this up earlier but it vanished so here is another stab at it. Genuine question. Myself and a very good Geordie mate have been arguing over whether Newcastle falls within the Scottish borders or not. We have border maps that show Newcastle both within and without the border line so wanted to see what the PH collective thought, so over to you!

What date is the map showing the Geordies as Scots? Can you post it up here?

TBH it was on the map shown on the film Doomsday which we were watching the other night - poor I know but there you go

Allegedly that map was based upon the original Roman created Scottish/English borders

Presumably that border follows Hadrian's Wall? Which only puts half of Newcastle in Scotland. It is the posh bit* though.

I think Berwick have definitely changed hands over the years, but never heard of Newcastle doing so.

The Scots do have a certain affinity with Geordies tho (from my experience)
