Power No Power

I'm sure we have all had a moment like this at some stage.
Out in the VXR yesterday and this morning all the power I needed. This afternoon change cars to the Astra 1.6 sxi to go to head office. Don't ask how, but I had one of those lapse of concentration moments !
Traveling behind several cars and vans being held up by a tractor, I changed down pulled out put my foot down to overtake several vehicles and OH F...K I did not have the power. For a momentary moment I thought I was in the VXR yes I do know there is a vast difference all round.
May I say sorry and a big thank you to the driver of a blue Transit van, had he not let me in I may not had been typing this now, and he had funny shaped hand signal that he gave me, by the way your middle digit is a little bent and yes I was a W..NK..R.
Ok the Astra needs more power how do I do this on the cheap ?

had same problem going from previous sti to Ro.would change down and forget no turbo lag to worry about!! Had a few near rear bumper experiences!!!

I had one for 2 years, as a hair dressers car goes they're very capable straight out of the box, very good all rounder I would say.
I raped the hell out of it each day, 8,800rpm changes all day every day never a tickle of problems, very nice gear box and very well balanced.
