Duvet covers, pillows, pillow cases, bed sheets etc

You know when you go on holidays and stay at the posh hotels, they have those silky smooth white bed covers and those reallllly fluffy pillows that sink in when you put your head on. Does anyone know what covers etc they use ?

I once stayed at Holiday Inn deluxe room, and it was the best nights sleep I ever had. It was all perfect.

Anyone got any tips for which places to go to for these covers and pillows.

No but prob need to invest in this sort of stuff at a decent store. i.e. John Lewis, M&S, those sort of places, they tend to have decent quality pillows.

The higher the thread count in the cotton, the better it feels on your skin, so go shopping for proper white bedlinen on the interweb and find out what suits your price bracket (it goes very high, as should your budget)

As regards pillows, thats a personal taste thing, but the nice heavy "phlumphy" ones are probably goose feathers. Again, the higher the budget the better. Get some additional plain pillow slipcovers that you can wash instead of washing the down pillows every so often.

Oh, and dont expect the 15 degree wash gubbins to get them pristine after muddy dog paws...

Yes, but the constant sneezing from those of us allergic to feathers is a bit of a crimp on the whole "good night's sleep" thing.

Some years ago I bought a Polish goose down pillow at John Lewis. I paid something over £100. Last month I bought to a pair of duck feather pillows from Debenhams for a tenner. Hand on heart I couldn't say the JL one is any more comfortable than the cheapies. Don't I feel a MUG.

Ah yes. My ex-bird was allergic to cats; I suggested a 'flooding' cure by making her a cat fur pillow... oddly, she didn't go for it.

I spent a lot of money here http://www.duvetandpillowwarehouse.co.uk/default.h... and am very very happy with the results.
Actually on the basis that you spend a third of your life in bed it was a bargain as the quality of the 'Ultimate Hungarian' pillows is the best I've ever experienced.

If you're that short of things to do, pop round and iron my shirts will you?

Next time you go on holiday take two suitcases, one largere than the other' Pack all of your stuff in the smaller case and put it inside the larger one.
On your last day put all of the bedding in the larger case and leave quickly!
