Looking at the number plate lighting arrangement at the back of my Cerb it seems that it back-lights the plate. In my case not very wellrolleyes

Should it be transparent? If so, can anyone recommend a supplier (preferably on-line, a "show" plates type place would be fine).

Thanks folks, but what am I asking for? I can't seem to see a "transparent" option on the fancyplates site?

Just add a comment that it's for a TVR.

They sorted mine for me.

On the constructor you have to use show plates (although don't worry you can then select to use standard uk font so will look normal) - then when you get to step 2 you use the drop down on the rear plate thingy to select "standard size - tvr backlit" - jobs a goodun.

Translucent rear number plates, because the bulbs are behind the plate and need to shine through to illuminate the plate.

The rear number plate is illuminated from behid, rather than above or by the side as is more usual. Therefore the plate needs to be tranparent / transluscent. Mine isn't and therefore is not illuminated at all.

However, I am now £38 lighter and should have a legal numberplate soonbounce

don't some cerbs have a tilted/recessed plate or have they just been modified?

Mine's recessed. I thought on the later models they all were?

I think after 2001(ish) they became tilted plates that were top lit. Before that, back lit.

Transluscent plates can be made from the lightbox material that sign companies use.

That's what my back one is.

Cost me €10.00

Just got my translucent rear plate from Demonplates.com. Just telephoned them and told them what I needed. It cost £10.00 plus postage (£3 or so I think)and arrived next day. Cheers.

Seems fine to me at that price. No need to send docs through first either.
