Got my letter form the autoclub de l'ouest today for my reerved places for 09.
Firstly I asked for camping at Houx and they allocated me basejour? Was last year the last year of houx then as there seemed to be some confusion?
And then the prices, I'm sure grandstand tickets were about £50 ish before and this year 98euro a seat????,
Looks like i'll be standing then, anyone joining us!

In our order the price hike is only 2-3 euros per ticket however the ste exchange rate means a £50 increase over last year (grandstand,general and camping)

Have you not been reading the news, the exchange rate is way worse than last year, which was also way worse than the year before. In 2007, 98 Euro's would have been approx £65, so what with the small price hike and exchange rate, any Euro trips are going to be more expensive.

wait till you buy any Camping gear.......the prices have gone right up this year......with so many folks staying home for holidays many of the Camping suppliers who produce the Tent and Camping kit have raised their trade prices, some as much as to supply retailers at last years RRP........yep so last year trade for one tent was £40 to be sold as £89.95 rrp......this year trade is £89.95......I must sell some of my once used tents this year

And that's not all...I was in Calais recently where a litre of Gordon's gin in January 2008 was around E12, say £8, whereas in January 2009 it was E20, say £18. Fags in Belgium also have increased but still represent a great saving over UK prices.

yes I have, I've just got back from rome and was in brussels over chrimbo. I think thats why i'm feeling the pinch so much. There is prices going up and prices going it, it just seemed to be rather a steep incline!

Got my allocation letter from ACO today. 2 general entrance tickets, 2 tickets for tribune 23 La Sarthe, and 1 ticket for Parking Blanc, postage, all up E334.50, call it £301 at today's rates.

It's interseting to compare prices with one of the well known tour/ticket firms. From their 2009 brochure, the same tickets would have cost £392. I have to say I'm a bit surprised that the mark up is as low as 30% !

Interesting, too, that good old Maison Blanche tribune has been renamed La Sarthe. History is disappearing ...

Ticket prices are very slightly higher, to be expected, but the Euro/£ rate is rubber ducked at the moment making it more for us lot.

To answer your question, probably Both Worst part is the rise in the Euro
