Hi guys,

I need to source a new pair of door pin switches for my Griffith 500 1996.

Does anyone know which car they were from and where I could get some? Playing havoc with my central locking as pin not working properly.

Cheers

Ian

Why not try a TVR dealer or Racing Green and TVR power both have very big online websites.

It's only a door switch - it's going to cost much.

Look on the old one for a manufacturer stamp and/or part no. On the precat they're from a VW. A VW parts dept would be able to get you replacements.

I can never understand this .. why would you want to keep a VW dealer in business over a TVR one? You're hardly going to need the VW dealer in the future very much when you need specialist TVR help advice and work are you? Buy from one of the TVR parts places and safeguard their futures! Often parts are cheaper from TVR than the original dealers anyway! My favourite for replacement parts like this is clever trevor, always excellent smile

Thanks for the advice.

Will try the tvr guys first, I just needed to know which car they came off, not looking for a second hand bargain just the right one that works!

Because there isn't a TVR dealer on the way home from work. Because half the 'fun' of owning a Griffith is (was) the challenge of sourcing parts. Agree Clevor Trevor are excellent, but they haven't been around forever and don't stock everything. Some of us enjoy the legwork. Some of us even fit the parts ourselves.

We occasionally find better parts than standard by investigation, as well as cheaper too boot.... Is simply accepting what is given / commonly used on a plate in the TVR ethos scratchchin

I got some off Clevor Trevor around 6 months back.
Can't recall the cost through but I'm sure they're listed on their web site.

Looks suspiciously like a Ford part, as found on cars of the Escort Mk5/Mk6 era...
