Does anyone know of any options or have any advice re steering racks. I had a leek on mine so I removed it and sent it down to greenwich. Unfortunatly they cannot re-con it.

The only option I seem to have is a new one which is obviously a huge amount of money.

Has anyone had the same issue or would there be any other options that could be fitted or adapted.

Thanks for any input.

Worn casting is usually the reason they can't.

Only option is £900 ish new or get a late second hand one from a breaker.

I think that PHer Brummie had a spare reconed rack for sale recently. Might be worth a try. Also, if it's any use, the rack in a tuscan should also fit the cerb.

Everythings repairable. Its the time effort and skill required to do so thats the problem.

If you are about to give up on your rack send it to me. I need to take one apart before I bugger mine, and if I can fix yours I'll send it back to you.

I hardfaced mikes brake callipers after we'd basically written them off by busting the casting. I rekon if we'd sent them off to a brake specialist they'd have binned them.

I'm the place things go on their way to the bin hehe. Sometimes they return, but no promises.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll get it back and take a look - see if I can see what might be required. The rack felt fine. It was just that it was leaking out of the end into the gaiter.

If I can't work out whats needed I might try Steering Racks. Julian, thanks for the offer. I'll take a look at it once its back and see what's what.
