With the blasted credit crunch that the media keep banging on about, (yes it does get to me, and has affected me, indirectly) I note we are supposed to give up certain luxuries in favour of saving money. The Government also say we should give up smoking, eating too much fat/sugar/meat and alcohol.

Well I've reduced my alcohol, reduce my fat intake too. BUT now they say tea is going up in price. Well I'm not reducing that intake.

What, if anything, is anyone else 'giving up'. Food, beer, wine, fats, sugar or life in general?

rolleyesJust wondered. It's raining here so can't walk the dog either.

Might have to borrow back the Focus that was 're-possessed' by my Dad when I bought the Evo, but that's got nothing to do with the credit crunch, and everything to do with me buying a stupid car that does 25mpg and needs servicing every 6 weeks...

Still worth it though biggrin

I'm not buying lunches anymore. I was spending £5-7 a day and it was mounting up. No real pressure to cut back, but it makes sense and I also seem to be eating better.

Funny how most of the things we are giving up are arguably bad for us.

I have given up McDonald's Cappucinos. I was on about 5 a day as I whizzed about....all that fatty milk!!!!

I think there was an article in the Times a month or so back about how the recession would make us all healthier; seems it's true!

I've given up caring about anything remotely healthy. We're a long time dead, so might as well enjoy the time we're here.

I can see logic in that - but in the last few weeks the first KFC drive through opened in our city... no joke, it is RAMMED every night!

...also, as for all that organic / free range food? Stuff that - I've discovered the joy of ALDI
