Screwing into granite?
Discussion
Get yourself a diamond tipped wet hole cutter set from any decent tile outlet, buy or hire a decent drill with variable speed and a decent clutch (Dewalt, Makita, Blue Bosch, Festool). Use the drill setting and NOT the HAMMER setting. You'll fracture the granite or split it completely !
Feed the drill bit slowly and keep plenty of water on the tip and cutting area. Remove the "core" and repeat as necessary. Use a suitable masonary rawl plug and screw combo, never use a bigger plug or screw than needed as you will fracture the granite.

Anyone know how to do this? Need to attach brackets for the hob to the granite worktop but not sure of the best way?
No you dont!! Just let it sit on the granite, and if worried it will move about, use a dab or two of windscreen sealer just on the corners underneath it to locate it. Dont worry, it will sit nice and flush and the dab of sealer will stop it moveing, and you can always get it out again if needed! With mine, I fitted a sort of l bracket on the HOB, that clamped it under the rear of the worktop, but dit not screw into the worktop, just tensioned against it.
Drilling into the granite is FAR too risky, if it dont crack when you do it, it will if something gets dropped on the hob!
