N/S front windows not dropping on 330 convertible when...

opening the door.
It's the same when i go to close the door, the window is hiting the roof line instead of dropping and then coming back up once the door is closed.
Is this a common problem, can i sort this myself or do i need to take the car to BMW and get them to do some witchcraft with the ECU?

so does it drop at all?
you mention it goes up when you have just closed the door?

to reset them, wind the window down fully, and hold the button down for a second or two, you should hear it click/try, then give up.

wind it all the way up again, hold and wait for the click/stop.

once that is done, the window will have relearned the top and bottom positions


if it doesn't move at all check to see if it activates the interior lights, if not, the door microswitch is stuck.
