Any wheels anyone?
Discussion
Had a nasty incident last night - when travelling up a country road near Beaconsfield, 40 ish, raining, dark and quite a narrow road. Just as a car comes the other way (so I dropped my full beams) I was aware for a second of something in the road and then a large bang. Car starts pulling to left so I pulled into side and sure enough nearside front going down. Limped off the road to a pub car park only to see the rear flat as well.
I walked back to find 3 x old tyres in the road, one of which I had straddled and it looks like the impact with the two near side tyres knocked them off the beads. I have never seen anything quite like this.
The recovery guy was very good and careful and the car is back at home looking very sad, still (no doubt) a lot better then if I had either hit the car coming the other way head-on or if I had left the road).
Not sure what I will need yet, but guessing 2 x new tyres and probably 2 new wheels (I can't believe they will have not been damaged, although they look perfect from the outside).
So – my question - has anyone bought new wheels recently for a 56 plate VXR 6.0 with AP’s? Just thinking it might be better (and a lot quicker) to get something after market, particularly when reading the horror stories that some have posted when trying to source new wheels for Ro’s.
