Me and the GF are off to Brighton for Valentines weekend.
Can anyone recommend a good place to eat and drink on Friday night?

Cheers

Good point. Somewhere with nice food, good drinks (not stupidly expensive), and open til about 2 or 3 in the morning?

Sorry mate, I know thats still a bit vague...

erm, I love a good Steak, GF loves pasta dishes, so possibly an Italian?

Cheers

I've not been myself but a number of friends have eaten at the Zilli Brasserie at My Hotel. There's also a nice cocktail bar if thats your sort of thing.

I would head for The Lanes and wander around to find somewhere you like the look of!

If you're after a reasonable Italian there are loads of fairly 'generic' places around the Lanes. Or there is a Carluccios near to the Library. As for open till 3am, not so sure about that, will just be a case of bar hopping probably. Or try In Vino Veritas - very nice cosy little wine bar, great service, restaurant upstairs & cocktail bar/lounge downstairs. Pop in there fairly often with OH for a cosy drink & good service (great food too, but fairly pricey) smile

Its been a while since i been down there but i remember there was a place called ali cats which was a good laugh and cheap ! Got a student bar feel to it and has a young crowd.

Later on you can go down the front to the honey club or Funky Budha Lounge - but make sure you know what sort of night it is first wink

For food there is Tootsies (near the premier travel inn in the centre of town) which will do steak and pasta and i think nearby there there is a slightly more upmarket/suave place but i cant remember the name sorry ! There are loads around that sort of area though so you wont struggle for somewhere to eat.

Least thats a start !

Amazing food, great atmosphere.

Ali cats is pretty grotty, but good fun. If I was in the Lanes, I'd drink in The Basketmakers (Arms)

Carluccio's is good if predictable for an Italian. Near the North Lanes and the Myhotel mentioned earlier.

If you get a table in the Hotl du Vin at this notice and on this most auspicious of dates, I'll eat my, er, valentine's cards.
