Being an idiot, I managed to crunch my n/s wingmirror on the upright for the garage door.
I was so pleased that all the front suspension went back together OK and everything pull, drove and braked straight, that I was a bit more gung-ho than usual reversing into my little hermits den of a garage.

The mirror itself and the frame is all fine, and the adjuster motor all works no problem, but the casing is cracked.
Somebody once told me that the wing mirror units are modified Corrado items - can anyone confirm or deny?
Other than trawling the rip-off TVR breakers and eBay ads, is there any alternative to shelling out £250 for a whole new unit?

I cant confirm or deny they are corrado mirrors but i've found one on ebay and it looks pretty similar to the cerbs one. it has the angled base arm with rubber gasket. I think they are to be honest

If you have a look on them Niel, they definetly have a VAG part no., and they certainly look to be the same ones.

Do you think you could find me a more expensive one?;)

Seriously, cheers for digging for me

I've got to pop down to the scrappies over the weekend, so if I can pick one up for c.£10, I'll just get it anyway and see if it can be persuaded to fit.

Does anyone know if the insides come out ?

On my 4.2, the passenger side doesn't go up & down properly. Left/Right & heater work OK & it's getting A feed for up/down but I think the guts are knackered.

Buying a new one means more paint smile

Definately corrado mirrors. We've a guy at work whose an enthusiast over them so we compared one of his spares to the ones fitted to my 4.2. Identical.

Russ i have a spare internal motor unit, only hassle in fitting is the wiring due too the swivel part from door needs some form of compression tool to separate.

If happy to cut and possibly resolder wires then should be pretty straight forward swap over.

I've got a pair of Corrado mirrors (both black) I bought to fit to my S, but the door would have to repainted so I didn't.

Just bought a Cerb, but it has full complement of mirrors (famous last words!) so could sell them I suppose.

Quick update, the motor assembly unplugs from loom via four small spade connectors so very easy to change.

In light of this topic I put it on there on Friday - so I won't forget when I need to know!
