I got a lot of useful information when I asked last time about mr2 turbos so thought you lot may be able to help me with this one too...

I didn't buy an mr2 in the end, bought a westfield but now need an everyday car and can't buy an mr2 because I need to be able to get a roof rack to carry my kayaks around.

Anyway, advertised locally is a toyota celica gt4 carlos sainz with 70k on it and a fsh for 3995. It sounds like a bargain to me but what are the pitfalls of the car, am I looking at big bills around this mileage?

Thanks for any help,

Mark

Bro got his with 69k on the clock although its not a CZ version.
Not had anything go badly wrong with it and goes like a rocket, or rather it will when this air filter turns up for it!
Air con is usually not working due to low gassing, but never really had any large faults with it....

That sort of milage should not be an issue as long as the turbo is good.....

CS varient has improved intercooling....

The chaps and chapesses over at www.gt4oc.com will be happy to walk you through the finer points. Basically it's a strong car, and as long as it's looked after will run for miles of grin inducing boost.

I should know. I run the replacement for it.....

Pity.

They turn up on gt4oc from time to time. Pretty rare though.

Nice cars. Probably the best looking Celica IMHO (prefer the look to mine)

I'm not a huge fan of the massive rear wing. It's a bit Max Power for my tastes (this is from a man who has to check the exhaust for sleeping cats every morning).

Hence my car is the non WRC spec, with a standard spoiler.
