Like the title says im after some headers for my ute its fitted with a vortec charger also does anyone know how much difference a monaro exhaust system is to a ute?

ive been lookin for ages for headers myself havent found any good luck

They would be the same. I have some Wortec 1.3/4s on mine which I will be changing later on for 1.7/8's. But it won't be until much later this year when the motor is stroked..

Jez was selling the kitchen sink, though he has probably already sold his headers... in fact Gareth might even have them. Ask Monkfish or Rapid if they have any used ones available. If not they might know of some in the pipeline.

You will need to stretch it before and after the diff.

sorry, thread hijack! Will you be doing this with no other changes at some point, ie and dyno before and after?

Sadly not at the moment. They dont hang around when we do.

I take it that from your experience there would be no advantage going the extra eighth then Rog?

The difference will vary according to a whole host of other variables, not least your cam and heads, and im sure there will be an advantage (assuming they are half decent headers). The question is how big? Until you try, you cant know, but id say you will wonder why you spent all that money afterwards.

Though that thread will screw your head up. Best to look at the simple version above in my other post.

I think I calculated dual 2.5" exhaust good for 540fwhp and dual 3" for 740fwhp or there abouts.

Primary header size is based on cam lift, exhaust flow etc. If you are doing a nice chunky stroker Im sure there will be more there, but more to be found in the 3" exhaust than headers size Id suggest. If you are only changing headers and not exhaust or heads etc then it would be interesting to see what the gains were. The more mods and power you have the better the larger stuff will be.

I know LG Motorsports in the US like 1.75" headers on their LS7 stuff still over the 1.875" though some pretty serious race engine builders swear by 1 7/8 stuff being better.
