I'm thinking of treating myself to a new watch. I currently have the brace below...

I'm considering a Sinn 656, 756 or 356 (is the crystal one worth the extra?) Also a Damasko 36. I had also considered a Tag Carrera or Omega Speedmaster or Seamaster, but think I prefer the looks of the Sinn or Damasko.

I would consider secondhand if worthwhile, like the very tempting anonimo cronoscopio I've seen.

You can see the sort of aesthetic I'm after and budget (up to 1200, less better) It needs to be everyday use robust. So thoughts please.

Cheers

Your budget won't stretch to a new Speedmaster in any event, but my usual advice is defo to try to buy Pre-owned - generally from TZ-UK.

All the watches you list are very nice.

Nice looking pair of Fortis BTW

I've bought a few second hand watches but TZ has always put me off to be honest. Not being able to post in the FS board until you have posted 50 times in the normal boards, when all you want to do is buy a watch is a bit of a pain. There also seems to be a bit of an elitist undercurrent - perhaps I don't mean elitist - but definitely a 'get orf moi laaand' feeling.

Sorry for the OT.

The 50 post rule doesn't stop you buying a watch. You can send the seller a PM. The 50 post rule is was only recently intoduced to stop people just using it as a free selling resource w/o making any sort of contribution to the community.

Sorry you felt that, but like most things, if you put a bit of effort in.....

I've just had a very warm welcome on that site. I must have caught them at a good time. Or they're softening me up for the kill.

IMO the 50 post rule is a good one, it encourages alot of activity to the forums even if it is just a quick welcome or complement to some guys watch.

hehe

Sorry, I'd go with the one that stirs your heart the most. The one that makes you go "Oooh!". For me it's an unfussy Sinn.

Sinn 203 Jubilee Limited Edition – 450 Pieces

That caught my eye the other day!! Launched in 2006, but he still has some for sale? maybe not very succesful, but definitely a nice looking watch!

That or the Damasko! Be quick if you decide on the Damasko! As said in the other thread, they are hard to come by, and Timefactors have only 1 or 2 in by the sounds of it

Any good places to view/prices on-line?

I just got this, Which is niceyes

But, for it to feel special its probably to similar to your Fortis Chrono

I know its probably a bit of a cliche, but that doesn't detract from a fine watch, but how about somthing like a Planet Ocean or one of the other Divers watches

It is nice, but maybe too similar to what I have, which is why I was looking at something like the Damasko 36 etc.

The Planet oceans look nice too, but I think they're more than what I'd 'hoped' to spend and again similar to my existing watches.
