Is this simply a way to make ENGLAND so worthless that the JOCKS will be able to buy it for a couple of deep fried mars bars and a burns supper in a fire sale.

I think Scotland also has a very good education system. At least, it did in the seventies and as a result it churned out lots of Political types.

I used to hang out with some Scots back in the 80's and all of them got approx 10 O'levels at their state secondary schools.

That is the evidence for my theory

Look, Mark, we still need you and the few other remaining english speakers down there to keep working, and working very hard if you don't mind, so that there's enough tax money left over to pay our MAHOOSIVE state benefits which provide our extra income to supplement our black economy efforts, particularly our vast organised crime and other unlawful activities.

But once you're on your knees with exhaustion and that tax revenue dries up, trust me, we won't be giving you any mars bars or burns suppers for the remaining wreckage. We'll be sending down the scrap dealers to whom you will give your remaining possessions as payment for taking it away. The future's dark. The future's TARTAN.

What the hell is an english taxpayer? Are there any left. Manufacturing is gone , the financial industry is gone , the insurance industry is collapsing as people save money not buying premiums. The call centres went to India.
The only work left is in selling phone contracts as its the only business calls I ever get.
Virgin are now doing £10 a month sims with 200 mins . . . there will be no money left in that industry soon.
The gas and electricity suppliers are the only ones with a legitimate claim to any sort of security but it won't take long before people start wearing an extra pully and turning off radiators in rooms they don't actually sit in before they feel the squeeze.

If there is any UK subsidy of Scotland, it's probably all part of an English Unionist conspiriacy to mollify the place and make an independant Scotland less likely. Once the oil dries up and they have no usefor us, that'll probably all stop and they'll cut our oil & gas supplies, ration our food and use us as a test bed for new & inventive taxes. Again.
