I looked on the Map, Clarence, NY is a suburb of Buffalo, looks like the plane was on final approach.

Waiting on a call back, don't think news looks good.

Sad to think this pilot wasn't as lucky as the hudson river flight.

What the hell is going on with planes right now? Fighter jet crashing in San Diego, Hudson river landing and now this ?

Unconfirmed reports saying all 48 onboard killed, hope it's not the case but it's not looking good.

Although operating as a Continental Airlines flight, the actual operator is Colgan Air. Many commuter/feeder airliners are operated by smaller outfits who are franchised operators for bigger carriers.

Bombardier is the name of the manufacturer. Bombardier build a range of very different aircraft. They specialise is biz jets and commuter airliners - which is a legacy of the fact that Bombardier got into aircraft manufacturing by taking over a number of older plane makers - De Havilland Canada, Canadair, Short Brothers and Lear.

The aircraft that crashed was a Bombardier DHC-8. The "DHC" in the title betrays its ancestry. DHC stands for De Havilland Canada. DHC specialised in short take off and landing designs - going back to the piston engined DHC-4 Caribou
