Annoying small thefts...Grrr..
Discussion
Fortunately (touch wood etc) I've never yet been the victim of any serious crime, but have on a number of occasions been pissed off by minor thefts, you know the sort - too small a value to claim insurance, almost too embarassing to report to the authorities, but really bloody annoying.
I once had an indicator side-repeater nicked off one of my cars. It was parked in the street and some twunt just came along and unscrewed it. It only cost £12.50 to replace, but I had to hunt around for a new one and it was all bloody annoying. Even more annoyingly, I was 90% certain whodunnit, as I rang the local dealer who said that it would take them up to three weeks to get one in, but also remarked on the coincidence as they had one exactly the same on order for someone else, who had rung up and cancelled his order that very same day... Hmmmmmm... They wouldn't give me his details though - and even if they had, what could I have done? I suppose I could have nicked it back, but that's not really me, and it might not have been him.........
The most ridiculous, I think, must have been the scummy tool who stole the '6' of the '36' I'd just screwed onto my back gate to help people find me when using the back passage (fnarr). FFS, it only cost £1.99 at Homebase. Who the hell, whilst being house-proud enough to steal a '6' for their own door, would risk the stigma and/or criminal record of a blatant theft? Beggars belief.
Anyway, I could go on but I won't. Just contemplating what sort of person would commit a criminal act for such minimal personal gain.

I put up two plaques outside my mums house one saying the name of the house & the other a No Parking sign, all nice & flowery for mum. I even used those special screws. A week later all gone. I appreciate the No parking sign can be re-used but the name of the house is quite unique so what use is that to anyone?
Also had my dice vavle caps nicked off my car when *I was away for 5 minutes so I must have just missed them

Last year two local druggies started nicking the blue council bin bags from peoples front gates after the bin men had been, as they cost about 80p each from the local shop and they could sell them on the black (or should that be blue?) market.
It took a couple of kickings from irate locals before they stopped.

Full credit to you for showing restraint there
For me, at the very least that would have been a 'discussion'...Ooh I can win this thread.
I was burgled whilst at uni. Despite there being a tape-to-tape stereo cassette player in my room, along with some other high value stuff, they stole half a pack of condoms and about 4 tins of hair mousse (I used to work in an aerosol factory over the summer so would bring back a load of salon products to sell to the female students).

unfortunately for me, the only thefts have been major robberies with everything of value taken.
however i was robbed at knifepoint by possibly the worlds worst mugger. i was on the way to pick up a tuxedo then head round to a mate's house to get ready for our uni ball. as such i had £150 cash on me, plus my cards, my mobile phone and my ipod. the stupid twunt made off with all of £2-3 in lose change i had in my pocket. retard deluxe.

I bought a ladder and hid it between a car and garage door. Thought it was out of sight, but some scrote nicked it before I could get it inside.
I hope you 'rung' the police.
No but I once stole someones side repeater of there car as I couldnt get one on order without waiting 3 weeks, then went back after sometime to take the 6 of there back door so I could use it as a 9 on my front door, and also got a nice ladder aswell, someone thought they would be clever and hid it between there garage and car down the side

But I could then use that ladder to fit my upside down 6 to my door, and kept my arse from getting wet, whilst sitting on it, on the pavement to fit my new side repeater

king, and surprisingly enough it seemed to put the fear of god into him. I was expecting a barrage of abuse!
