FYI

I got this email from the organisers of the GT90s series. Tuscans fall into class 3 and looking at it should be very competitive.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are all convinced of the potential of the GT 90’s Revival Series and with the 2009 season comes two challenges: to attract more cars on to the grid to make both this series more attractive, competitive and viable throughout the current economic climate.

SRO has prepared a provisional calendar for the 2009 GT90’s Revival Series within other SRO promoted race weekends which we would like to present here below together with a reminder of the Series’ concept.

PROVISIONAL CALENDAR

8-10 May Dijon withing the Super Serie FFSA event,

23-25 July Spa within the FIA GT event,

14-16 August Silverstone within the British GT event,

2-4 October Paul Ricard within the FIA GT3/GT4/Super Serie FFSA event.

THE FORMAT OF THE EVENT

The format of each weekend is as follow apart from Spa where we would start on Thursday afternoon and finish on Saturday morning:

2 x 30’ free practices Friday

15’ – 5’ – 15’ qualifying Saturday

2 x 50’ course Saturday and Sunday

THE ENTRY FEES

2392 euros GT1

1794 euros GT2

1076.40 euros GT3

For your information, you will find attached the regulations, currently being reviewed for the 2009 season together with a list of the eligible cars. If yours is not listed, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We would be much grateful if you could let us know your thoughts and indicate what round you could be attending and what car with before the end of this week.

Best regards,

Graham

IIRC Andy Holden and Steve Glynn had a crack at this at Silverstone

Indeed we did and the Tuscans are very competitive in their class, Tim and I won race 1 and Andy and Darren won race 2 at the inaugural event at Silverstone.

To qualify the Tuscan must be in original spec as per the Tuscan Challenge reg's of the '90's and the drivers need an International C licence.

They were running on Michelins for this Series which worked very well in fact on my car. It was good fun, a good bunch of people from accross the Globe with a few Celeb's knocking around too! The only thing to be a little wary of is that the length of the races are not ideal for the AJP engines and you'll need to make sure that your fuel tank is large enough as I don't think refuelling was aloud during the mandatory pit stop and driver change.

All the best,
Steve
