I am a child of the sixties so I grew up watching Lost in Space, Thunderbirds, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and all those other cool Sci Fi series from that time and the thing that always got me was the Robots. I love them. Here are a couple of my favourites:

"Robbie the Robot" who appeared a couple of films from the late fifties and "Robot" from Lost in Space

There are now companies in the US reproducing these in life size as you can see. Geekish as it sounds when my numbers come up I will get these for my dream home cinema.
Does any one else share my love of these things and what are your favourite robots?

Asimo makes me moist.

The sheer amount of brain time that has gone into him, breathtaking.

I like the idea of a life sized Robbie, I'm off to check prices.
Gort was a good robot in a deep, silent kind of way.

I love this from a 70's Norwegian IT book I picked up years ago:

"A British inventor has developed this computer controlled robot. The robot gives a taste of what could come in the future" smile

It looks like the cupboard doors painted to be a TARDIS. A proper bloke's pad I'll bet smile

Looks like it, bit small though. Perhaps it's the fridge.
