Investment decisions... the house number 13

Would you buy a house that was number 13?

it's easy to brush it off but a lot of people really wouldn't been keen (right??) so arguably it could be almost as bad as leaving near a railway line (in terms of value if not the value you get out of the property (although living in number 13 could impact on your life if it brings bad luck! )))

Often there is no No.13 on Streets/ Roads/ Estates.

But yes, I can imagine to certain crystal reading, zodiac thinking people it might be an issue.

Just set fire to their dog and keep a fire extinguisher in the house that they can use if they buy the house

i know.. which is why it's weird that we currently rent one and are going to look at one!

I just checked with an agent.....
There are a fair number of people who will not move to house number 13.

Equally they have had a completion today whichthe lawyer said they should postpone due to the date (the buyer told him to get a life apparently)

However up until now I've never considered it.

i guess to a certain extent you've answered your own question, you are thinking about not buying it due to it's number.

Wouldn't bother me though, is it possible to change to the number to a name?

Yes, I lived in a lovely No. 13 for a few years. There is nothing wrong with the number, it's no different to any other really.

The Japanese are very into this. I believe quite a few of their buildings don't actually have a 13th floor. As a coincidence, my Japanese manufactured car does not have one 13mm nut or bolt on it. I wonder if they take it that far?

I lived at house number 101 on a long street once.

I was always getting people turning up for re-education.

(I really did live at Number 101 -it's not just a gag)

exactly... it's like a fiat. I know that they're no worse than, say, a Peugeot.. but I would know that other people don't think this so it's a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy...

Is the number 13 actually unlucky? Like written in history? (Actually I'm not sure whether that would convince me either)

Or was it made by Hollywood/Media to be the chosen unlucky number?
