Hi Everyone
After a 2 month rest in the garage it is time to awaken the beast!
Owned the car since october and covered a quick and faultless 2500 miles and loved every minute. ('02' 2.5 GTO)
Am going to get the car lightly serviced and looked over before it is unleashed again.
It is our local mechanic who will carry out the work as he has looked after the families cars for 30 years including TVR,s E-Types, Range rovers and everything in between. Very knowledgeable and very trust worthy carrying out all work to the highest level.
I'm sure he will know exactly what to look for etc but just wondered if anyone had any tips, suggestion or the like (Oils etc to use) seeing as this site is the Bible of Noble owning.
Only small glitch there may be is that the coolant level is dropping slightly and when i've been running the car for short periods of time whilst it has been in the garage to keep it breathing the exhaust fumes have been thick white. If i replace some of the piping where is the best place to get it?
Thanks in advance

Hi Noblebenn, only been a owner for a couple of weeks but i would get him to check turbo and manifold nuts to make sure they are tight !!! oil is shell fully synthetic 10w-50w i think ,get him to take off bottom tray ,its a b
h of a job but shows the botton of the engine well and if there is a coolant leak it should showup on the tray .
while hes there get him to grease the back of the gearchange rod as this can get rusty and make a crappy change !!!
should be able to get breather pipe from most good motor factors although Demon tweeks will have the posh coloured stuff . make sure he checks the steel breather tank as well !!! these could be a major rust issue !!! and it flows the oil straight back into the sump !! so make sure it is ok !!
regards Simon

change the coolant hoses for silicon, the rubber ones perish.
there is a nice long pair that run from front to back through the tunnel.
i mangend to change mine by removing the front and rear panels plus the acces plates and was able to push the new hoses through
pleanty of places to buy the hose from search on here for silicon hoses and you will find loads of info from when i changed all of mine

i didnt remove the clam on mine but it is easy enough to whip it off to get better access.
th only reason i didnt was cos i didnt want to drap it around my garage on my own.
hose is 10mm id i remember correctly, again search against "water hoses" and you should find loads of stuff i wrote previously
