Hi chaps, my first venture onto the Maserati forum so be easy wink I am considering buying a used Quattroporte and wondered what your thoughts are about using one as an every day car? I would be looking at spending around £40k so maybe a 2005? What are the key deferences between the model years and is there anything one should look for in particular? Were they all automatics or did they produce a manual? I know it's less important but what sort of mpg would I get? By comparison I drove a Volvo S80 4.4 V8 for a year and got around 20 mpg. Less than my 5 litre Griffith wink

Any thoughts?

40k should net you a 2006/7 model. There are 2007 sport GT Autos on this site in the classifieds at main dealers for prices starting with a 4.

Looks like serious value for money, but don't forget to haggle there is always a deal to be had.

As to the model year change specifics, I'm no expert on QP's, though I do know there was never a manual.

Early cars are an automated manual with paddles, later cars (like the sport GT auto) had an optionional ZF Auto box which is highly rated.
