Posting something to Denmark

Okay folks,
I've got to send a roll bar, for an Austin Healey Sprite, to Denmark. Basically I sold my car to a danish gentleman but we couldn't get the roll bar in the car with the hardtop on, so I said I'd post it to him.
My mistake because I keep getting quotes of £100, which is a f
king joke! It's some bks to do with the fact that even though it only weighs 10kg, its actual volumetric (sp) weight is 60kg!
What sort off stty wky witch craft is this? What they basically said was, because other items of this size usually weigh 60kg, yours does too. No, it fking doesn't tossers, it weighs 10kg!!!!!
Anyway, its 120cm long, 70cm high and 50cm wide. These are the dimensions on its longest sides, but of course its roll bar shaped so looks like a 'C' shape.
Any idea's on the cheapest way to send this to Denmark, I'm fking considering jumping in the TVR and driving over. It'll pretty much cost the same.

£100 isn't that far off.

The best I think you'll get is about £70-£75 from a courier, depending on where in Denmark it's going.
Try a freight forwarder rather than DHL or the like.

Your problem is the volume not the weight. Most carriers calculate volume as length x width x height divided by 6000, which in your case volumes out at 70kg.
Your other problem is that it is over the maximum size for an individual item to be sent by Parcelforce, and several other carriers. The maximum length is 1.5 metres, but with a maximum length and girth combined of 3 metres. Yours works out at 120 + 50 + 70 + 50 + 70 which is 3.6 metres. How have you packed it? Is it in a box or just wrapped up in bubble wrap? If you have it in a box and you are able to get the package down to 3 metres length and girth combined, I maybe able to help.

This would make the volume of the box in which it needs to be packed 120cm x 70cm x 5cm
Which equals 42litres
If you put try 10kg and those dimensions at http://www.interparcel.com. Their site tells you that Parceline DPD will deliver it to Denmark for £19.95 + VAT
