Hi all

Im looking for a Viper, I only really like the mk 2/phase 2 not sure what they call them when it comes to american cars but the curvy one that doesnt come with 3 spokes!

I was being helped by a guy called Dave but my wonderful daughter managed to nuke all my contacts on my adress book and my emails went with it so i lost contact with him, I was also in touch with a seller but lost conact with him too. Dave is the second in command of the owners club if anyone knows him? He seemed a top guy and was very helpful!!

Anyway what do I look at when buying one other than the obvious? I havent driven one, but i want one so much so i dont think i care what it drives like because im having one biggrin

Not many gen 2 around at the moment though, may pick up as summer arrives, but given the recession and all I'm surprised at how little is out there, although prices do seem to be going up a bit with the £-$ rate

there's only a few yellows in the club and none of the owners are called Dave, but Dave is our VP and owns a gen1 red RT, gen2 is much much better wink

Sounds like your after a Gen 2 Viper The soft tops are RT/10s The Coupes are GTS. There are various things to look for and what ever you do dont go and buy one without getting a VIN check first wink There are a lot of cars on ebay USA, but you should have a look on the US VCA CLASSIFIEDS first. There are Various factory Recalls and engine mods to check out too.

There is a very good book called the VIPER BUYERS GUIDE written By Maurice Lang. Its well worth a read wink

I imported My Gen2 GTS last year, I got the car checked out by members of the VCA and also got the full history of the car. Importing a car in from the US is fairly easy, just keep an eye on the US Dollar rate, Good Luck. smile

That will be RT10/Dave that Neil (viper) linked to earlier, he must have found some more ACR pics and is stuck in the loo as he would normally have passed through by now.

lee ,you need to think of what colour etc as they look different depending on colour.
the lighter ones show more detail etc.
the darker ones tend to hide detail in my opinion.
different colours available in different years

I like yellow and blue mostly, not keen on black but if the right car comes at the right price im willing to budge on colour but lighter ones are what do it for me.
