Italian domestic racing

Chaps,

My folks have booked a villa in Umbria for a week in June and invited me to join them. I didn't think I could go abroad without watching some cars so I went looking for local circuits. Transpires that Autodromo dell'Umbria Magione is close by and there is a meeting taking plac while we're there. Imagine my delight!

Does anyone know anything about the circuit? Or can they tell me about the series racing on 07/06/2009 from this link - http://www.autodromomagione.com/calendario.asp ? Any help would be much appreciated - I can grasp F3, but that's about it...

Campionati Italiani di Velocità means Italian Speed Championships and racing there as well as the F3's are the Italian Superstars series, big saloons like M5, BMW 540, Jaguar S-Type R, Audi RS6 racing. Think of grown up Touring Cars. GT cars racing and some form of Prototypes on the menu as well. Formula Azzurra is another single seat championships.

That's brilliant news - thanks loads! That Superstars championship looks great fun. I will be interested to find out a bit more about the GTs and Prototypes. Any more information would be hugely appreciated. I'll get some photos up come June!

Looking at the Calendar for the Superstars it looks like they are racing there on the 8th of June, a Monday. In fact most of their dates are for Mondays.

I noticed that as well. I will drop the circuit an email in due course to find out about everything. It's only a few minutes from our villa anyway. Will be great to check out a new circuit I don't know anything about. Thanks for the help.
