Rattle from exhaust!! also for MonkFish
Discussion
Recently had the sports pack installed by monkfish which im enjoying every minute of!!
Noticed at times this little rattle coming from the exhaust sounds like a couple of bits of metal hitting each other, save me trecking all the way back to have it looked at ive taken a recording to see if anyone can pin point the problem and it might even be somthing quite simple like a clip that i can get the local mechanic to sort, but would be easier if i knew what it was to point him in the right direction.
Its right at the end of the video where im slowing down that you can hear it, its only 6seconds long

Thanks in advance.

if its on the overrun, i doubt very much if it is the exhaust "rattling" as it would be relatively still - could it be detonation in the exhaust you are hearing? This can sometimes sound very metallic.
Also the exhaust really doesn't have much to rattle against, (unless you've got a loose bracket i suppose)

yeah service went well i'm just trying to source a new alloy to replace the buckled one and the dented one may be repairable. If anyones got any 2004 cv8 alloys for sale please let me know. Changed the exhaust to loud and it sounds even better now.

Theres one for sale on ebay needs a slight refurb though and a new tyre.

i've been in touch with him hes going to get back to me to check if he has 2 just in case the dented one cant be repaired, but i'm not sure if the 04 cv8 and the 05 cv8 had the same style alloys?
I'm not too sure on that one im sure someone will be able to shed more light on that for you.;

What many refer to as 04 and 05 cars have different wheels, but bear in mind that many early cars were registered much later than 2005, so their '05' registered might actually be an early model. Get more details of the car the wheels are off - big or small boot, nostrils or no nostrils, etc, and don't rely on registration date.Gassing Station | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
