Traded in an Evo 8 a week ago for a VXR8 from Picador. Fancied something a bit more comfortable and was happy to lose a bit of performance.
So far it's been back for a new battery after failing to start on the third journey. It's booked in for a respray of a paint chip in the door that appeared while car was having battery replaced. I now have the 'rapid indicator' problem which I'm trusting they can fix while respray is being done.
Whilst I can't fault Picador's response so far to these issues I've gone from being very happy a week ago to really not liking this car and missing the Evo.
Fingers crossed things only get better from here.

Good to get the faults sorted and out of the way. You'll soon forget the problems when it's back to being ok. Provided it's a manual, you've only got the water leaking in problem left. :-)
He hasn't even got that, its an R8 not a monaro!
The battery thing is not that uncommon, though mainly on the earlier R8's. I believe revised software for the BCM is a cure. There was another thread a few days ago about it.

Hey mate, I'm sure you will get to enjoy the full house when it's sorted, nothing but nothing, beat the throb of a V8. I've too been disappointed with the quality of a lot of cars I owne d in the past, worst being a couple of Jag XKR's. I've got to say I've been delighted with my ute even though the build qualities sSo far it's been back for a new battery after failing to start on the third journey. Did a few miles over the weekend and you're absoloutely right that the lovely sound of the engine made me quickly forget the few niggles I've had so far.
My wife has already said she feels far more relaxed with me driving this car than she did in the Evo which sometimes smade her feel sick.
Overall I'm sure I've done the right thing. At age 40 it's time to quit driving rally cars.
Regarding the exhaust I've no plans to replace it. After years of listening to a loud exhaust, induction kit and turbo whine I'm enjoying the quiet.
