Ok. Was just wondering on some peoples comments on here about their TVR costs. There seems to be a lot of people on here who have a moan at how much their costs are. I am a Tuscan owner and at the moment am getting an engine rebuild from Dulfords. Now I am well aware that this is costing me a small fortune however as garages go their cost per hour is very reasonable. Now I bought my car for the same price as a Mondeo and with the engine rebuild is costing me less than say a ST220. Servicing costs are less than my Impreza STI which I sold to buy this and I have sooooo much more fun in it.
Insurance is less too.
Even with all the costs in I have probably spent £22000 for a supercar. Now in my mind I think that is a bargain and I even got close to 30 miles to the gallon.
Just my 2p worth and a little rant but feel better now.

They're not as expensive to run and many may think thumbup

On the whole, my 5+ years of Tiv ownership has been cheaper than my previous Audi ownership (if I include depreciation and chopping them in every 2-3yrs).
And I still get 33mpg on a motorway run, even with a supercharged race engine evil

my first service was £2800ish and that was a bit of a shock. Although it did include a set of Racing Reds and a few niggles here and there being sorted (plus 2 new engine mounts) fingures crossed to the next one being a lot less. I had a Supra TT before and that would cost me £200 at the most for a service.

The 'cost' threads ......

Surely 'expense' is relative to each individuals 'spare cash'

For example.... Someone without a pot to piss in, would find getting the £60 together, to put petrol in the car, a life changing experience.

Where someone with a couple of quid sat propping up their memory foam, won't bat an eyelid at spending a few grand on servicing/repairs.

Note the comment about costs being relative, but I'm in the same boat as Board', having sold a Scoob to rtn to TVR. The issue of depreciation is very significant, and I suspect that TVR doesn't suffer as bad as some makes. I also discovered that insurance was MUCH cheaper, and fianlly the issue of road tax: £400 on the scoob, £185 on the TVR.
Chap I bought from said that it was more difficult to sell on a std type road car than a specialist vehicle as the former had been really saddled with government taxation laws and insurance company classification.
