Tamora ride height

My tamora has had Nitons fitted (racing reds), and the handling change is unbelievable. Its so smooth now over bumps I love it. But I need to get the ride height adjusted because we live on crazy cambered road and the car is scraping the front as it tries to go up the drive. I wondered if anyone had the same issue and what they adjusted it to?

I seam to recall I had my set to 12 cm, but I may be wrong, could some kind soul measure under the front bit and see the clearance?

Hi Simon,

Just measured mine and it's about 10cm. I have Nitrons fitted aswell. I do have an issue grounding the front in multi-story car parks.

Mine is about 87mm - no wonder I keep scraping those speed bumps!

My '05 Tam with the standard stuff on it, is 10cm. Does scrape occaisionally...

thanks. I think i used to have it set to 120mm which would be right because it never grounded before. I know that seams high, but its either damage the car everytime i use it or accept that it needs to sit a little higher. Will have a chat with them tomorrow when i drop it back.

TVR centre in barnet. Been going there since i ordered the car from new 5 years ago. I really like them, enjoy very friendly banter from them and cracking customer service.

I would highly recommend them. Sorry i have been lying low recently, family, and job was more important.

If they have just been fitted you should wait until it's done about 500 mile, the shocks take some time to settle, I had mine set to 125mm (Norwegian speed bumps are high)and then it dropped back down to about 95mm so had to lift it again.

I remember those speed bumps for the viking tour 2 years ago, recally some of the roads they also felt like permanent speed bumps (snow road etc). Good point on re-adjusting but for now, I need it just to get in the garage, or my neighbours and i will fall out over the noise of me backing in and out.

They have lifted it to 100mm, I think I may get it rasied to 120mm because there putting speed humps in our neighbourhood.

ok i have another dim wit question, just to satisfy my own curiosity. If you raise the front do you raise the rear as well?

Yep, or you will get front end lift.

No experience of this but from dealer rumour I understand the resaon our cars sit on 35 profile fronts is becasue it was the easiest way of dropping the front end for a more agressive aero angle of attack.

OK i have the car raised at 12cm. It looks a bit too high now. No time to sort it yet, but it now clears comfortably. When I have a chance I think I will get it dropped back down a little. perhaps 10cm would have been better!

How do you raise the ride height - do the nitrons have ride height adjustment built in or do you have to add spacers etc to raise it?

My Sag is on std shocks, 8omm clearance and it grounds out too much.

A photo would be much appreciated :-)

The spring platfoms are adjustable you wind them up to raise or down to lower.
