Does anyone make doors?

I appreciate that it's a daft time of night and week to get sensible help but I'll try anyway....

We need to buy a pair of 3 foot wooden doors to fit a shed. This appears to be a pretty non standard size and I'm struggling to source them via Google.

Can anyone help?

Are you just after cheap shed doors, like ledge and braced with tounge and groove boarding?

If you can't locate any it's very easy to make them.

I don't know really - I'm tasked to buy the doors! They need to be fairly secure...can we achieve this with tongue and groove?

Yes, with framed ledge and braced. I would say more but I'm going out right now, try googling framed ledge and brace door.

I can pm you with a telephone number of a chippy, OAP, slow, but very very trustworthy, and first class workmanship. It would not cost you anything to speak to him, his knowledge might allow him to either modify a standard door, or as another poster has stated, make a door up.

I had these doors knocked up by a local joiner to enclose my carport. Cost £230 including the hinges and bolts, just over 4ft wide each door:



And the view from the inside:



Made from heavy duty tongue and grove, ledged and braced.

Sniff diesel (nice name lol) there's no bracing on your doors.

Eventually they will sag under the weight of the timber. The braces (looking from the inside) should go from the bottom hinge diagonally upto (and supporting) the middle ledge. Then another diagonal brace from the hinge side of the top of the middle ledge upto the top brace.

Where in the UK are you based? my previous neighbour makes doors of all sizes!

Where in the UK are you based? my previous neighbour makes doors of all sizes!

The doors are for Devon/Dorset border - I'm also in Bristol so if they would go on the roof of the car I could collect (prob too big/heavy I guess though?)

Cheers for the piccies - I get the idea now. I don't think we've got time to make them as there is too much other work to do and the shed HAS to be finished in a month for us to move our stuff into.
