Here's one I received this morning :
Dear Friend My Name is Mr suleman muhammed I am the manager of auditing and accounting department of BANK OF AFRICA (B.O.A) here in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. In my department we i discovered an abandoned sum US$8.5 million us dollars) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customerwhich name is (MR. MORRIS THOMPSON ) from Florida, U.S.A) the acconut number is this 14-2558-5976 that belongs to one of our foreign customers who died along with his wife and only daughter in a plane crash of Alaska Airlines Flight number 261 which crashed on January 31, 2000. , we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we can not release it unless some body applies for it as next of kin or reaclation to the deceased. unfortunately we learnt that all his suppcosed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim. 3-4 a day! I've only ever got one.I got a really cool one by mail last year, from some Squadron Leader in Iraq, who with a few friends found a load of money and needed help repatriating it. Got it somewhere, I'll see about posting it - 10/10 for entertainment value alone.

Thing is, people will say, "Well you don't have to read the thread.." but once in a while there's news of a clever scam doing the rounds (I've learned a lot from 'The Real Hustle' for example, and changed behaviours because of it). So I'll often click and read.

Spam filters tend to be pretty good these days. Sadly people posting them on PH means they the spam filter is largely meaningless as I end up reading the s
