I just bought an E91 320d touring last month, and am thoroughly enjoying it...

The service indicator came on last week (95k miles) but being the condition based servicing I don't know what needs to be done. I've always taken my cars to independent specialists, but I don't understand how they'd know what needs to be done... Does this mean that its only BMW dealers who can service these cars now?

Anyone any experience of using independents with condition based servicing cars? If so positive? Who carried the work out? (I've used J&D near High Wycombe before but don't think they'll have the technology)

Or do you know how to get BMW to quote for the work in advance - if its minor, might be worth dropping it to BMW as there is one just by my office...

You can check what needs doing in the OBC, have a read of the manual.

Unfortunately the handbook was missing from the car when I got it...

Is anyone able to tell me how to do it?

Thanks

This is from the E90 manual.....

The extent of service work required can
be read out from the remote control by
your BMW Service Advisor.<

I guess Independents may also be able to do this.
