Sking in London

Was just coming out of Conran shop yesterday and this chap skis right past us.... along the main road (very busy).

In a fluro workman's jacket and bobble hat.

But on homemade skis, with poles and everything.

I know I've let you down by not getting a pic, but here's a drawing instead.

Can I just add that his 'skis' were clearly home made with what appeared to be rollerskate wheels (the rattly ones from the 70's) nailed on in a row.

There used to be a bloke up round Aberdeen way like that turned out he was part of the UK X country ski team and this was how he trained through out the year.

A week ago this post would be unsurprising, hell, I was snowboarding in Northern Ireland this time last week.

You mean like these? They've been around for years... certainly used for off-season training, also quite good fun and definitely good for getting fit!
