Upgraded Manifolds............

After speaking to the factory I have just been informed that the exhaust manifolds fitted to all Noble M12 versions have been re-designed and are currently being manufactured.These will be made available for the 2.5's,3R and M400 versions.
The material used to fabricate these will be 304 stainless steel with a 1.75" x 2mm wall thickness.
The tubes will be round as opposed to the oval ones currently used.
There will be a race spec set available made from incanel,these are all due in at the end of this month.
Prices are to be confirmed.

Ooo that's good news. Let's just hope the price for them isn't astronomical. Nice that they're thinking about the old cars (although I guess there's a bit of Rossion involved in this).

I was quote more than £300+VAT for a single standard manifold about two weeks ago.

£300 and some...lol - awaiting delivery from kerridges as we speak of one rear manifold. £800+ for one fitted! (2.5L) apparently the factory have just put the price up.

just spoke to the factory so i can shed a little more light on this. basically the 2.5L manifold was discontinued ages ago and was produced in S.A and imported. up until a few months ago they still had some old stock in the factory but they recently ran out. hence it is now impossible to order a new 2.5L manifold. noble automotive decided to do what they should have done years ago (their words not mine) and find a company to remake it this side of the water. they have now redesigned it with thicker stainless steel and they also now come with lamda sensors in both manifolds. (MBE chip upgrade adds a second lamda sensor to the rear manifold). the lamda sensor hole was a particular weak point so this should address that issue and as the steel is thicker they should last more than a month (or a week in my case!)

they assure me that although the part is £200+ more expensive than the old one it should not need replacing again. The part price is £475+ vat from a dealer and they take about a month from order to delivery. they will not sell to any garage, it has to be via a main dealer like kerridges etc...

does that help clarify things.

mine should arrive early next week i'll take a picture and post up on here before its fitted if anyone is interested. i'm not using kerridges for fitting mainly because my car sounds like a dragster and it's an hour and a halfs drive away. so i'm trusting it on the local morgan racecar specialists, i'm sure they can manage the job

Was that each also will they do it without the lamda point as this is the worst place to put them (directly before the turbo) as in the 3l they should go after the turbo.

yes EACH!! all i can say for sure is that both front and rear for the 2.5 will come with the lamda point. aren't the manifolds for the 3l a different fitment altogether? if so then i dont know thats another question for the factory sorry.

Only disadvantage to having lambdas pre-turbine is the remote possibility of one breaking up and destroying the turbo. Don't worry about it.

Eh? You can buy the bits off the dealers. The factory just didn't want to sell to the public directly any more.

How hard can it be to put a label with a different address on the package?

I'm also betting that the £475+VAT will become something more once they've passed through the dealership. Call me an old cynic....

The price the factory quote has been the dealer price so far. That's why we set up NobleParts, to track such things. If you go back 2 years or so you can see all the posts when this started.

There's also the issue of parts having to be delivered to one place and forwarded onto the next unnecessarily. In my book that implies delay and added cost - it just seems daft that's all.

You're not wrong but that's what Lee wanted at that time. Whether it was to keep dealers onboard by letting them do some Noble business as there's no new cars to sell or some other reason we just don't know. Whilst factory price=dealer price it makes no odds to us in reality.
