Needing to change the tyres (certainly on the back!) on a 03 CL55. Minded to go for the Goodyear eagles as they've always been good on my other motors and seem to have very good reviews elsewhere.

Anyone got any other suggestions or think I should stay with the Michelin / Continental setup?

Cheers

I was under the impression that your choices were limited .. ie the tyres are unique to that car? Certainly what I have been told for my 02/03 CL55 .... that said, I seem to recall some cheap crap on the front when I bought the car!

I'll check what is on mine when I get home - they certainly feel like a good match to the car

I've always plumped for Michelin Pilot Primacys on the C and E Class when replacing the OEM Conti's, I find they last much longer (at least 50% longer) and seem to have just as much if not more grip than the Conti's in the dry and the wet - I guess a lot may depend on your driving style, I don't drive anywhere near 'on the edge'. The Michelins are more expensive but worth it IMO.

As for Goodyear's, never tried them.

Maybe there are more options ...

... my car currently has Dunlop SP Sport MAXX on the back.

I've got Michelin Pilot Sport's on the C43. Had Goodyear Eagle F1's before, they didnt seem to last as long and gave more road noise. But they had fantastic wet weather grip and are quite a bit cheaper than the Michelin's.
